About Us

The Armorer' Store has grown out of our premier product, "The Care and Feeding of All Things Fencing." This book ever written that covers the description, maintenance and repairs of ALL fencing related equipment; from tip to Scoring Machine.

Within the book there are several tools, fixtures and items that make Armoring easier and less time consuming. A number of these items are available on our product pages.

The owner of The Armorer's Store, U.S. Army COL(Retired) Michael "Mergs" Mergens, is a USFA certified Armorer, Coach and Referee with over 27 years of experience in the sport of Fencing. Additionally, he is a Mechanical Engineer with 25 years of practical design and management experience in the Aerospace and Defense industries. He has worked on such diverse projects and programs ranging from the Space Station trash compactor to overseeing all the Army's aviation and Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensor acquisition programs.

This work has helped him to develop, and adapt, several tools and 'jigs' to help Armorers to better work on weapons and equipment. Knowing that many Armorers are 'do it yourself-ers', he has developed downloadable, and hardcopy versions of many of the tools and 'jigs' he uses.
